I have no connection to the military whatsoever but the take-away messages can be applied to so many other facets of life. I teach in a school and I really think the "listen to the guy on the ground" applies on a daily basis. I can use this philosophy with the administration, my co-workers, and parents. In addition, the whole concept of sharing information is useful in personal relationships and in the workplace. Think of what could be accomplished if there were more brainstorming sessions!
