Christina Katz has created possibly the only go-to book for writing mothers everywhere. Writer Mama not only explains how to start a freelance writing career and keep it going, but it also delivers sound advice tempered with a healthy dose of reality. There is no fluffy impracticality anywhere in this book. I've read books on writing that encourage you to get out there and do it, they build you up, but then they don't tell you about the rejection you will face, or even how to start climbing the mountain. Writer Mama does it all. Katz explains quite easily how to get started, truthfully unveils the mysteries and explains the realities and hardships of being a writer and a mother, but then goes beyond that to offer countless quotes and words of encouragement from other writer mamas who have succeeded. This book is absolutely packed with tips, tricks, ideas, inspiration, and practical how-to instruction. I am not even finished with the book and it has helped me land five (paid) articles in print, having previously been unpublished! This book does not teach you how to write -- that's for you to tackle elsewhere -- but it does dispel the fear, doubt, and mystery shrouding how to start writing and get published, all while balancing life as a stay-home mom. I believe anyone with solid writing skills can pick this book up, follow the advice within, and start getting published. I know already I will read this book again and again!
Hey, You, the one reading this review! Why haven't you bought the book yet? Buy it already! You can thank me later!
