Enjoy the classic Word Search game on your Kindle anywhere you go.
Locate and mark off words in the grid using the 5 way controller. Each word appears in a straight line, horizontally, vertically or diagonally in the grid - but be careful, sometimes the words are backwards! Play at your own pace or against the clock and see who can get the fastest time for each puzzle. Pause partway through a puzzle and return to where you left it. You can reset each puzzle and try it again as many times as you like. If you get stuck on a more challenging puzzle then you can give up and see the correct solution.
Fun for all ages, with categories from Animals to Best Movie Oscar, there are 50 themed 13x13 puzzles included in Volume 1 covering a wide variety of subjects. People who like puzzles and word games will enjoy playing this fun game on Kindle.

I've been waiting for quite some time for a word search Kindle game. I'm a big fan of word searches. I absolutely love them. I was so tickled to find this. I bought it and began playing right away. You simply use the five way controller to select the first and last letter of the word. Very user-friendly! They do time how long it takes you to complete the puzzle but there is no deadline. I think this is a great feature - to be able to see my progress and improvement. I couldn't have asked for a better word search game. I can only ask that they make more volumes. I just can't get enough! This is a great game for a great price!
A great game to pass a little time with.
I really had no idea of what to expect from a word search game on my Kindle. It turns out that it is a very interesting format for competing against yourself to establish a fastest time for solving the puzzles.
The solving mechanics are quite good, although most of your time on the clock will be spent moving the cursor to the correct letters rather than in actually finding the word. The puzzle starts off with a 13 x 13 letter grid with the center letter circled. You use the five-way to move to either the first or last letter of the word you are looking for, click the center of the five-way and you get a darkened circle, use the five-way to go to the other end of your word, click the center again and the word is automatically connected by a line and removed from your list to be found. All of this while the clock is running. There is also a box on the top left to show how many words out of the total you have completed. By pressing the space bar you can pause the timer, by pressing the 'menu' key you are given additional options: How to Play, Clear Puzzle, Show Solution, Pause, Next Puzzle, Previous Puzzle, Home Page. I had wondered if you could repeat solving a puzzle and the answer to that question was answered in this options menu.
These puzzles are not very difficult. Most of them contain 24 words, but one puzzle has only 17 words to be found. There are 50 total puzzles with titles such as Shakespeare, Global Landmarks, Fishing Terms, Best Movie Oscar, Detectives, Super Bowl and Guitarists. The mix of subjects seems very well balanced and I'm quite looking forward to solving all of them. These are not the kind of puzzle you expect a great challenge from, the grid is just not large enough for that, but I can see myself using this just for the fun of trying to beat my previous time score or just having it with me to pass the time while waiting for a doctor's appointment. And for the low price of under a dollar it is quite good value. A really nice portable way to solve word search puzzles without having to take along a magazine and pencil. With my memory, by the time I finish all 50 puzzles and get ready to start solving them over again, I will have forgotten where all the words were and it will all be brand new to me!

I like how this word search is set up. It's easy to use - very intuitive. I noticed a couple reviews talked about how much time it takes to navigate, but if you have the newest Kindle, you can just hold down the button and the cursor will zoom across the puzzle.
With Word Search you get exactly what you would expect which to me is worth a five star rating. This game fits the Kindle format perfectly. You don't need graphics, sounds, bells or whistles, it's just like the Word Searches I've been buying for years. The only addition is a clock to time how long it takes to solve the puzzle and 99 cents for 50 puzzles you can't beat the price. If you like word search puzzles then you'll like this.
This is a perfect word search for the Kindle. I had bought a different word search that said it was formatted for the Kindle, yet you needed to write down the answers as if they were on a grid - back to pen and paper. This game, however, works great on my Kindle, and I have the K2. There is no writing the answers or using notes or highlights. You just click the first letter of the word, toggle to the last letter, and click that. A line goes through the word to mark it off. I like the way the words on the list turn gray when you find them in the puzzle so you know which words you still need to find.
I would love to see more word searches like this.

Finally a word search game that actually works with Kindle! I'm very pleased with this game. Though I don't like being timed and try to ignore the timer clock lol. But the good thing is that I can find a few words... leave the game, then come back later and continue where I left off. The words and timer will continue where you left off.
I thought the navigation might be too clunky, but it's ok. Word Search fun on the Kindle. If you like this kind of thing, it's cool.
50 Puzzles for $0.99. Amazing. Get it.
My title pretty much says it all. There are 50 different word searches, and each is a different topic. If, you get through all 50, you won't remember the answers to the 1st puzzle, so it's worth it. I love it so much! If you get bored with a puzzle, you can get out and do another without erasing everything in the puzzle you were already doing. It is worth the $0.99. Get it.
WOW!! Lots of fun. Very easy to play. (How do I put my name in the reviewer section on here?)
Lots of fun but best of all...finally a game that works well on a Kindle...and at a great price. I look forward to volume 2.
I always loved playing Word Search games when I was a kid and I still do as an adult.
This version of Word Search has a timer so you can actually time how long it takes you to solve the puzzle if you choose to and I'm pretty sure it rates your time with other players.

I have enjoyed this game very much, sometimes you really dont want to read or do anything else and this is a good game to pass the time.
this is great when your waiting in the doctors office or at a restaurant. My husband and i do these together while we wait for our food.
This is cool, can't beat for a buck. Love the puzzles and the way Kindle is set up to play them. No more pen and pencil word searches. ;)
Im not usually the Word Search type, but when I saw this Kindle game for $1, I couldn't pass it up. In just a few days, this has provided me with several hours of entertainment. I like the fact that this game keeps track of your times -- it adds to the replay value of the crosswords.
The controls are simple and intuitive.
There is a variety of puzzles, some are more challenging than others. I've found puzzles that fit with real-life events, such as a Super Bowl themed puzzle, a puzzle about the Oscars, Fishing, and many more.

I just got this game and can tell that I am really going to enjoy it. I have already played one of the 50 games. It is so easy, and simple, no complicated instructions , just open it up and play. Worth 99 cents, but I wish there were 100 games, I am going to get through these 50 too fast !
I have always loved word searches since I was in school. Just like this one times you, I used to see how long it would take me to complete one. I hope the author come out with additional word search books for Kindle even though there are 5 pages full of different types of word searches.
Love the Kindle Word Search game!
This game is easy to play..so much easier than using a pencil or pen and the paper version. I can actually see all of the words after marking them..no mass of jumbled words! I, also, love that I can erase all that I have marked and will be able to start over with a blank "page" after I have worked all of the puzzles. I'm sure that I will not remember where all the words were located by the time I start over.
I absolutely LOVE this word search. It is so much fun & easy to use - I even got my 9-year old grand-daughter hooked on it. Just wish there were more volumes. I am searching & searching for more like this for Kindle. Thanks.
I have had more fun with this game than any other on the Kindle. I've already done all the puzzles-which are easy enough to not be too challenging and yet still plenty stimulating for adults. Some of the puzzles have harder, less familiar words, which is also nice.
But here's where my wish comes in. I wish it was possible for the puzzles to reshuffle themselves so each puzzle could be played over and over again. (The puzzles are replayable, however, the puzzle stays the same, and you can just try to improve your time.) However, I understand at this price and the Kindle format, that just may not be possible.
Hurry up with a new set! :)

keeps my busy of I don't want to read
Basically a fun game. I enjoy it most in the evening if I do not want to read, which kindle is supposed to be for.
I think the only problem is keeping track of the word once you have found it. Its not like you can put a pencil over it. once you learn how to use the cursur its fun.
Does Oak systems make other word seaches?

This is a great game especially for people who like word searches. Its a really good deal too; only 99 cents for 50 games! I also like how it is timed. The only thing I would change is being able to navigate diagonally; that would make it easier to find words that go diagonally.
This game is amazing. Out of all the games on my kindle I vote this one the best. Most of the words are easy to find, but there are some hard ones in there. "Justin Mlodzinski"
The puzzles were way to easy. I was very sad to see that this game may have diversity but it was not challenging at all!
This version is ECONOMICAL compared to purchasing the $3-4 hard copy at the store. The timer challenges me to focus and toevaluate far better than finding words manually.
I bought this due to reviews of this game, and I was not disappointed. Unlike other word search games for the Kindle, this one is great, and doesn't create highlights that you cannot possibly delete afterwards. I am about almost finished with all the puzzles, and I find myself doing them for minutes on end. My sisters even get in on the action, and do a few when they have nothing better to do on long car rides.
I was looking for a word puzzle to do on my Kindle while camping, found this one, and downloaded it. Then I lost it when I showed it to my husband. For a guy who never paid much attention to my Kindle I was shocked at how quickly he was hooked and at the rate he was burning through the puzzles. But no fear! Because the puzzles are timed you can let the Kindle thief go first, note his time, clear the puzzle and then complete the puzzle to establish your own time. Quickest time wins! This is a great game, a good deal, and a fun way to enjoy your morning coffee while camping. Don't hesitate to buy!
I need more - Addicting favorite
I have always loved puzzle magazines (especially the variety ones in print) and I would do them all. This is a favorite and addicting! I have to pace myself so they last longer but it didn't work and have gone throughboth volume 1 and 2. You can then do them again to make your time better in solving them. We need more volumes out sooner! Its a neat break to do these from reading.
this is a really fun game it is worth buying it in fact I can play it three days straight
This is another great game for the Kindle -- easy and inexpensive! I like all the puzzles included on a variety of subjects. How do any of us get any work done? It is simple to use; easy to navigate, and you can clear the board when you're done for someone else to use (and it keeps your time/score.) At .02 a game, what a great buy!
I don't have anything substantial to add to the previous reviews except to say I thought this game would be boring, but since buying it yesterday, have already spent about 3 hours playing with it. At 99 cents, it is a screaming good deal.
Great Kindle game. I love it. The only thing I want is more puzzles. I'm almost done with the whole game.
Not to easy not to hard and won't freeze up your Kindle. Works everywhere and its easy to use. Choose your puzzles. Some range from 15-24 words.

I purchased this yesterday, and I have already finished about 2/3 of the puzzles. I am totally addicted. I love it. They are a bit on the easy side, but for my first Kindle Word Searches, it is great. I had downloaded other games, but never really could get into them. I found I'd much rather read books than play games. But now I'm having trouble getting back to reading instead of sloving Word Search puzzles.
I really liked this game and I am disappointed there is no volume 2 or 3. I use it all the time while I am waiting for my cases to be called in court or when I am on the train and don't have enough time to read a Kindle book. None of the searches took more than 10 minutes. So they are easy, fun and fast.
Besides it was .99, so what's not to like?

Excellent adaptation for the Kindle - Highly recommend!
I love word search puzzles. I can highly recommend this version for Kindle. The game controls are simple, and once you click the first and last letters, the word auto hi-lites. You can clear the puzzle and play it again yourself, or let someone else play if you share your Kindle with someone.
I am very happy with this version, and I hope there will soon be another volume forthcoming.

Terrific word search game! More of the same please! I keep coming back to find another. My sons love these sorts of games. They challenge each other on the best time and all! MORE PLEASE! I want VOLUME 2!
I love word searches and could not put this one down. I finished all of them in less than a week. great game to help pass time
I like wordsearch and play it sometimes on my daughter's ds. This is a nice game for a really great price. After you finish you can clear the puzzle and redo it. I like to do them all then clear each of them and redo. For 99 cents you certainly can't beat the price. Hope they update the puzzles then it would be PERFECT!! Still wish Kindle had a stylus (out of force of habit from using the ds) but its not complicated to play at all!
I downloaded this the other day and I love it. I breeze through word searches and try and beat my previous best time. If you like word searches, definitely download this today!
I bought this for myself, but my daughters keep grabbing my Kindle and playing this. Not too easy, not too hard - just right!
This game is so much fun. Well worth the money. Very entertaining for all. A great "time waster". Fun for all ages.
Okay, I bought my Kindle so I can read without lugging a ton of books from the bookstore. I have a few Kindle games that I may have played a couple of times, but this one keeps calling me away from my reading. I am constantly trying to beat my best time solving these puzzles.
I find it funny that I only used to buy word search books so I could alter the list of search words to make them funny, only to leave them in a waiting room for someone else to find. This little Kindle game actually holds my interest they way it is supposed to, maybe a little too well.

This is an awesome game! If you want a good time killer game, but a game that helps you learn, this is it. This game is very educational and is a lot of fun.
Addictive Classic Word Search Nicely Done
Word search games are relatively simple in structure. Finding the words is the hard part. This Word Search is just as the classic paper version, with the added element of being able to time a search. That's where the addiction kicks in. Can you beat your best?
There are only 50 games, but the price is right at what comes to less than two cents per game. Each game is themed, with varied difficulty. You can cheat and see the solution, or just start over. Certainly, after a few repeats, you will memorize where the word are.
One nice thing about it being digital: no messy pencil marks or not-quite right circling of words.
I fully recommend Volume One of Word Search, and look forward to subsequent volumes.

I'm surprised how much I am enjoying this. I loved these as a kid and haven't played one in years. I was pretty slow for my first few games and now I can fly through them. As I get older I appreciate exercising my brain with something fun. It's easy to navigate. Great buy for .99 cents!
this word search game is sooooo much fun! i love it! you should definitely buy this game...its entertaining, there are 50 puzzles, and its only $0.99!!!! you definitely can't beat that! :) i hope there are more in the future!
fun & very easy to navigate. it is comparable to the hardcopy version. I hope more advanced versions are in the future. If you enjoy wordsearches you'll enjoy this.
When i bought my kindle, I was pleased to see they had word search available, after buying, I was disappointed that there is no word at the end of the puzzle, other word searches I have done have one word to use for the letters that are left, I suppose this is just a small thing, but this was a game I was really looking forward to playing
I enjoy playing this game very much. The problem is that my letters are wearing down on my keyboard. I am afraid if I continue playing that they will wear away altogether.
Canadian wants games to play on new Kindle 3
Why can't I buy Scrabble, Word Search, etc. for my new Kindle? Doesn't seem fare that it is advertised for download & now I don't get it. Very disappointed cause I love games.
