This book answered many questions in a very easy to understand manner. I've applied what I learned. Great testimony and shared knowledge
This book shares the author's life experiences, which were very interesting reading. But more importantly he gives you the tools to solve your issues, or those of a friend or family member. His explanations are clear and easy to follow. My initial feeling after reading it was one of being "armed and dangerous" to the kingdom of darkness. God bless you Don Dickerman!
With so much confusion in the Christian world about demon posession and Christians this book uses the simple model that Christian's are mini Tabernacle or Temples.
And at the new birth God's spirit dwells in the Holy of Holies and he owns that so Christians spirits can't be possessed.
But just like Jesus drove money changers from the outer court a Christian can have "money changers" or demonic oppression in our soul and body (Holy Place and Outer Court).
And this makes sense because so many Christians have so many health challenges, addiction challenges, and evil thought challenges, that only an ostrich with his head in the sand could think that Christians are never "oppressed" by the devil.
Anyway --
The tabernacle model with demonic oppression seems right on target to me.

A must Read For Every Human Being
This book is a must read for every Born-Again Believer and any and everyone in between. It's jammed packed with vital information to help your walk with the Lord a happier one. And if you're not a Christian you will certainly want to be after reading this book.
I read a lot of books on ministering deliverance years ago and learned a lot, but they were not for new believers... This book was much easier to understand and had a lot of great information... AND really interesting as well. I would recommend it to ANY pastor, teacher, or Christian counsellor. Don Dickerman's web site has a lot of good products as well.
When Pigs Move In is a book everyone should read. Many people's lives are affected by demonic oppression and Don Dickerman gives a very Biblical perspective on the Power of the Holy Spirit to free people. His personal experience of being used by God to free thousands of people (including the Son of Sam Killer, David Berkowitz) from demonic influence is an unforgettable read. This book is a great example of how a Christian can use their God-given authority to change the lives of those oppressed by Satan and his demons. This book should be in every born again Christian's possession.

This book really opened my eyes to what's going on in the invisible spirit world, and how we can overcome demonic influences....through the power of God's Word, and authority given to us by his beloved son, Jesus! I purchased several copies for friends and family!

This is one of the most insightful books I have read in a LONG time. It is packed with true life experiences and VERY valuable knowledge and wisdom. I highly recommend this book to any believer. If you know nothing of the kingdom of darkness it will open your eyes to the truth. If you know a little about the kingdom of darkness this will add more to your knowledge.

Spirit Filled Book of Deliverance
This book explains in an easy to understand manner how a saved Christian can be saved yet demonized through generational curses, pornography, unforgiveness, soul-ties (through fornification), the occult, etc from their "old self". My husband has been a "slave to pornography" for many years and has tried everything he could to stop his cravings for pornography. His cravings were becoming more and more perverted. Although he tried SA, sex therapists, etc. he was still a slave. This may be difficult for you to believe that even today people are being delivered from the influences of evil spirits that haunt them, but praise be to Jesus Christ it is happening! Through the description of how deliverance is achieved in this book and my husband's sincere desire to be free of his addiction, my husband was delivered! Praise be to Jesus!
This book is excellent and so interesting on so many levels. I think EVERYONE New Christians, Non-Christians, Old Christians will benifit from this book. He refers to scripture and tells us what God has revealed to him. They break down all the topics in an easy to use format. This is SO BADLY needed today, what a blessing. I like the book because I also know it's real, and just by reading it you can tell that.
An eye opener for those who are not afraid to see
I read the book Pigs in the Parlor by Frank Hammond a few years ago. Obviously Hammond didn't say it all in that book since he wrote the forward for this book. I would hazard a guess that the two dovetail but can't testify to that due to the length of time since I read Hammond's work on this topic. The book is blessed by copious references to personal experiences, including Son of Sam, who I mentioned in one of my novels. This is a book that is needed. Topics such as this should be required reading in a seminary. Unfortunately modern seminaries don't seem to focus on the teachings of Jesus, but rather on the world. I realize that many are skeptical of the presence of demons, but I'm afraid that the lukewarmness and ineffectiveness of the church is evidence that the devil has gummed up the machinery somehow. You find out some of the sources of the problem in Dickermon's writings.

I'd never heard of Don Dickerman until he was recommended on another Website (Spiritdaily.com). I'm glad I followed up on the recommendation and read Don Dickerman's one and only "Kindle-ized" book, "When Pigs Move In..."
Don starts out by ranting (albeit mildly) about the state of Christianity today. I happen to agree with Don's assessment of the state of many churches nowadays. The churches are supposed to be changing the culture. Instead the culture is changing us. (See, e.g., the many Pew and CARA reports that give evidence of the "watering down" of Christianity). In the context of Don Dickerman's book, what the Word of God says about "spiritual warfare" is largely ignored in favor of "spiritual welfare" (keep the pews filled: think of the pews as sources of income rather than ejection seats.) Anyway...
I enjoyed what Don wrote about how he "found" his ministry of healing and deliverance. His prayer for God to use him as another Moses who could say, "Let my people go!" is worth remembering and praying. His "vision" of the mansion with many rooms (and his being trapped in the "salvation-only" room) was priceless.
I'm glad that Don didn't focus on "exorcism" (a la "The Exorcist" or "The Rite" movies) but focussed on oppression healing for those who have been saved but not yet liberated from their own demons.
I enjoyed the anecdotal, rather than doctrinal, approach that Don took throughout the book. Throughout the stories of "liberation" I kept hearing the voice of T.L. Osborne when he'd talk about his own driving out demons. His phrase, borrowed from his daughter Daisy, was "poor satan!" (daddy's beatin' him up again.) <G> This could equally well be said of Don Dickerman, one of Jesus's frontline warriors.
For anyone who is not familiar with the healing and deliverance ministry, I'd highly recommend Don Dickerman's books as a great introduction to the subject. You'll get an idea of how one person has learned the ministry from the school of the Spirit. Thanks for answering the call, Don.

Takes the fear out of deliverance!!!! YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!
We are in a spiritual battle! Don Dickerman's book, When Pigs Move In demonstrates how demons oppress believers, what allows them permission in our lives, and how and why we must command them to go. He explains that forgiveness and repentence cancels their permission to oppress us, but they do not leave until we cast them out. Don Dickerman demonstrates that demons will ONLY tell the truth when they are under oath to Jehovah God. Take you stand in faith! With the power of the blood of Jesus, your testimony and the Word of God, you can take authority over demons. I especially like how Don Dickerman shows the legalistic ways of demons and the heirarchy of their "kingdoms." Demons are not very creative and are very predictable, once you know their heirarchy and legalistic ways. You will gain incredible insight from this book, all of which points you straight to the Word of God! Thank you, Don Dickerman, for following God's prompting into this ministry!

As a long time bible reader and spiritual seeker, I was generally aware of some of the concepts discussed in this book, but for me, the light bulb went off big time. Don's detailed telling of speaking to spirits, binding them, and taking authority over them through Christ helped me clearly understand how to take authority immediately over principalities and powers that are trying to hinder or oppress me or my family. And his stories clearly show the causes of our deepest problems and how evil spiritual forces gain access to our lives through the choices we make. Most of the folks in the book had the issues that we all struggle with - Unforgiveness, hatred, sins against our bodies, jealousy, and so forth.
As I read I was getting visual images of events in my past, and past events involving family and my friends, enlightening me to the spiritual battles I'd seen and had actually fought in the past without realizing it. It has literally changed my outlook on life in two days! My husband had major realizations just hearing stories from the book, that have impacted him in a major way. If you are seeking the spiritual truth, and are willing to check your "denominational doctrine" at the door, this book will be totally enlightening and give you a new outlook on events in your world and the world at large. I'd say it's got to be the most impactful book I've ever read. I highly recommend it. I'm buying additional copies to give to family and friends.

An explaination of the spiritual world.
This man knows and understands the forces that steal our peace and ruin our lives. Very revealing, packed full of revelations. Should be read by everyone. Multimillion copies are sure to be sold.
Inspiring stories and an overall great read!
This book was given to me by my Grandmother the day before leaving on a trip from Australia to the Philippines. I found that it really was the "page turner" that the forward said it would be and I had finished the entire book before landing at my destination (the vast majority of it on the flight itself).
I was, I must say, initially a little apprehensive about reading a book about "How to sweep clean demonic influences..." (purely out of ignorance it seems now) but Don's writing style made the testimonies contained therein easy to read and his explanation of the fundamentals of deliverance ministry was enlightening.
Although I have had only the briefest of encounters with the area of deliverance ministry (as an observer during a number of prayer meetings) I found the book certainly a good starting point to check the scriptures for myself (references to both old and new testament verses are provided throughout the body of the text and specifically summarized at the end of the book in relation to certain topics).
As I have not read any other books covering this topic I can't compare it to anything else, however, the book has encouraged me to look for more information on this important area of Christian ministry (and I enjoyed reading it - so that justifies 5 stars from me).

This is a book that every Christian would benefit from reading. It (deliverance ministry) is the missing link in believers gaining freedom from strongholds and bondages in their life that the Church today basically ignores or avoids exploring. I believe it is well written with good examples and practical insight from the Scriptures that will be of help to many people seeking a closer walk with the Lord as they seek freedom from any hindrances the enemy has erected in their life or that of their loved ones.
We have a Christian Books and Gifts store and this is one that we have to reorder. A good book on the topic of deliverance.

This book has a great deal of misinformation. The author promotes the idea one must vomit up a demon during exorcism. Logically an evil spirit is not made of matter. Thus it does not need to exit through the mouth or ride out on vomit. It is only spirit, not substance. The writer also says a person must invite an evil spirit in. This is hardly true as most demon possessed people probably think the devil does not even exist. He claims cosmetic surgery allows a spirit of vanity to climb into someone.
He also claims to have a two way conversation with demons. Another misconception is he promotes the idea one must diagnose the demon. The fact is Jesus knew the spirits by name because He lived with them in heaven before they rebelled. Thus He could address them by name. We can't and should not attempt to name or diagnose them.
Anyone following this book's plan for exorcism would be thwarted. The reality is that demons must respond to the Name of Jesus Christ. All one need do is whisper the Name of Jesus and tell the demons to leave. It is a simple process and takes less than one minute. The victim should also call upon the Name of Jesus and ask to be set free.

This book was awesome. I discovered several areas of my life that I was totally unaware that demons lerked there. I was totally set free from oppression from following the steps in this books. My friends are reading it now. READ THIS BOOK FOR FREEDOM FROM THE ENEMY OF YOUR SOUL.

Don Dickerman does an excellent job of laying out the way to rid Christians of demons. He explains clearly and simply and provides some great examples of how he has encountered spiritual warfare.
God has used this book to completely change my life
Just as Frank Hammond says in the foreward, this book's merit proves itself by the fruit that it bears. My life and the lives of many others I have gifted it to have been completely changed not to mention the lives of their family members. I noticed in other reviews that others who bought this book felt led to gift to others as I was. I gave this book to friends and family for Christmas and have continued to restock for gifts to anyone, anytime I feel the urge. Muster up your faith and hang on, freedom is coming!
If you are going to pick 1 book on this subject, I do recommend this 1. I have read others & this 1 just makes it real. Every believer encounters this at some time & knowing the truth will help you. I also pray that you would read the Gospel accounts of Jesus dealing with demons & let that be your final authority.

Don Dickerman has a way of writing in an easy-to-understand manner about a very powerful subject. Demons are not something you normally talk about but his examples of them and how to cast them out was something that I needed to hear. I am passing the book around to my friends who are interested in this sort of thing. I even sent a copy to someone I know who is in prison. Linda
This book is truth plain and simple. When the body of Christ actually grasps this and starts to apply the principles set forth in God's Word for deliverance and freedom... O.M.Goodness!!! It's so sad that we are kept in bondage and do not know it, the enemy knows what he's doing. Now it's time for us to know what we're doing!
This book was very relavant. Often times in the church we want to overlook this isssue but in this day and age we need to cast out demons more than ever. Mr. Dickerman gives you his experiences, in a manner and fashion you can trust, and then backs it with scripture. My eyes have been opened so much more and although I am not completely ready to perform a deliverance I am well on my way.

Don discusses his journey from conventional ministry to miraculous manifestations of a loving God at work today through chosen vessels, anointed men and women with unique spiritual gifts of healing and deliverance.
"When Pigs Move In" parallels stories of healing and deliverance today with New Testament examples of healing and the casting out of demons. The book sets forth the principles Jesus taught by example as He healed and ministered deliverance. Don describes how he was energized with a holy boldness in his first encounter while confronting Satan, the kingdom of darkness, sickness, and of disease in a ministry of deliverance.
Dickerson explains demon "access points" which allow entry into believers through such things as: Generational curses, mental disorders, addictions, religious spirits, early childhood trauma, anger, pornography, immorality, un-confessed sin, lust, and the occult.
In the following chapters Don goes on to share evidences of demon activity, examples of modern day demon possession. He then relates real life examples of miraculous healing and powerful testimonies of deliverances.
Part II of the book focuses on the "nuts and bolts" of deliverance. Don shows how turmoil in the temple (the church or our physical body as a temple) results when defiled by sin and evil thinking.
