100 Easy to Hard puzzles for a Great Price, A lot of Fun, and Easy to Use
this is a great sudoku game. the puzzles are easy to use and lots of fun.
a reviewer said it was hard to remember which keys represented which numbers ~ not true! it couldn't be easier.
at setup time you specify whether you want to use the top row or an adding machine type set up of a cluster of 9 keys. each puzzle has a 'legend' wih it that shows you the numbers and the functions of the buttons (such as undo and hint).
i just have 'pros' and no 'cons' for all 3 versions of sudoku puzzles from Puzzazz (sudoku, wordoku, and symdoku.

When Sudoku became popular several years ago I quickly became addicted and could not put my pen and tablet down. I forced myself not to purchase a new book once I completed my last one. But darn you Puzzazz and Amazon! There you were, just staring at me on my Kindle and so cheap to boot. I'm now addicted once again and am thouroughly enjoying it, maybe even more than before.
Having done quite a few Sudoku puzzles in the past I can honestly say these by Puzzazz are some of the best. Not only is the usability incredibly simple and intuative, but they are not your typical randomly generated puzzles you see from other companies. When it says more difficult puzzle it really is!
I would highly recommend Sudoku Unbound by Puzzazz, you really can't get any better.

This is the first game I have downloaded for my Kindle and I like it a lot. It was easy to get started and the puzzles are fun. Solving the puzzles on a Kindle is easier than paper since I can keep track of my notes on the squares without having to cross out or erase my notes in pen or pencil. If you like sudoku, this is a great app.
Awesome Awesome Awesome! Love it!
I have also purchased another Sudoku for my Kindle, and it is awful....can't look at the entire page without scrolling around, which makes it hard to solve the puzzle, you have to go the the symbols screen to type the numbers, but not on this one! This one is easy to use, beautifully dislayed, and has keys on the letters to represent the numbers. Love it!
I've finished the first 24 of the puzzles and I had to archive it because it was getting in the way of my reading. Very good interface, easy to navigate. You have to get this game!
This is really cool. It is just like the book version but digital. Great user interface and design. It was really easy to learn and use.
Sort of a Sudoku novice, but I dig it.
Pretty slick looking Kindle game--plus I don't really know how to play Sudoku so I appreciated the guide to the game itself. (I've played a few other of these games where they just assume you know how to play!)
The first handful you are learning how--not to solve Sudoku--but how to use this version of the game. Then, have fun.
Easy to see what could go where if you tend to scribble every number that could go in a box--they're laid out like the numbers on the phone in each box.
I did find that my (erratic at best) skills improved dramatically as I went along.
More done the same way would be good!

excellent design & exactly as much help as you want
Besides the superior design in navigation and info display and set up options, this game also offers superior and very flexible help in gameplay (more about this later).
I really like the set up choice where you can enter as small numbers in each cell each number that cell CAN be at the first press of the number and the number it MUST be at the second press. You can alternatively choose the small numbers to mean what that cell CANNOT be if you prefer. You can also choose the first press to enter IS and the second to change to MIGHT BE. What great choice! If you need to remove a noted number you just go back to that cell and type the number again. If you make a mistake, the back key will undo all moves one at a time to the beginning (restoring overwritten notes is especially thoughtful).
I also have mine set to display the numbers in the 9 square number pad though I actually use the qwertyuio layout during play (and both work) ... more choice! I love that I don't need to press the alt key to create the numbers. I love that I can change difficulty level before starting a new puzzle.
Now about the excellent help choices...
Help file explanations of how to figure the logic.
Remove one mistake.
Remove all mistakes.
Reveal current cell.
... and my favorite ...
Fill all notes! This one can save a lot of time if you like. It fills notes based on the most basic logic. I use CAN be notes and it fills in cell note numbers where that number does not appear in the same row, column, or square, but it does not do for you the more advanced logic possibilities, such as if a number appears only in cells the bottom row of a square then it cannot be in cells in the bottom row of the other two squares in the same row, or if two cells in the same square, row, or column contain only the same two possible numbers then those two numbers cannot appear anywhere else in that particular row, column, or square. Fill all hints will also pay attention to the MUST BE cells you have filled in, and will update to remove possibilities affected by cells you have solved.
I never used the possibility notes before getting this Sudoku game, but I love them now. Because the Back key works so well, if I get stuck, I can choose one possibility and follow the chain until it dead ends and then go back to follow the other. Or I can give it my best guess then Remove All Mistakes to see if I'm right and then Fill All Notes if I was wrong.
I love that I have all the choices I can think of about how to play and how much or how little help I want. It is a VERY well designed game. Highly recommended for logic lovers.

This is my first Kindle game download. I love it! Easy to use, easy to see the numbers, etc. Very good instructions. Nice diversion if you tire of reading for a while. I read all of the reviews before ordering, and they were all so positive (for good reason). Would recommend to any Sudoku fan...from beginner on up. Well worth the money.
This modestly priced Sudoku game is just what I hoped for. The puzzles come in varying difficulty levels. The interface is quite intuitive. Anyone at all familiar with their Kindle will navigate with ease. The graphics are good, clear and clean, without a lot of extraneous flashiness. If you enjoy Sudoku in the paper, this game is a pretty safe bet at a good price.
Sudoku Unbound has filled a need in my "fun box". Now I can have a puzzle with me and ready to begin or continue when I'm forced to wait even for a few minutes at the doctor's office, or other unexpected spot. I pull out my Kindle and enjoy the level of puzzle I'm ready for. The interface is so user-friendly that it is instinctive and most of the rules are right there on the screen, in case any slip my mind. This has not been my experience with other e-reader puzzles. Can't wait for Puzzazz's crossword app to come out!
I love how easy this game is to use! I have tried some other Kindle games and have yet to find one that is as well designed for the kindle's somewhat awkward controls (I have a 2nd generation kindle). My favorite feature is the ability to write notes - makes it much like doing the puzzles with pen and paper. The directions are also very straight forward so it was easy to jump right in. Keep up the good work Puzzazz - I look forward to more puzzles from you!
I have been playing EA Sudoku and really like it. After reading about Sudoku Unbound #1 in a Kindle App Review, I got it, also. I like it just as much as EA Sudoku, but they are different. The "Easy" puzzles in Sudoku Unbound are more challenging than the "Easy" puzzles in EA Sudoku. That's a good thing. A feature I miss in Sudoku Unbound that is really nice in EA Sudoku is the ability to highlight numbers (such as all the 2s or all the 5s in the puzzle). This aids immensely in solving.
I have just two complaints or annoyances about Sudoku Unbound:
1. They use a different number style for the "write in" numbers than for the pre-filled numbers. It's cute that the write-in numbers are supposed to look handwritten, but I would much prefer they used the same style numbers for both and just made the "write in" number solid instead of outlined, to differentiate them from the pre-filled numbers. With the two different styles, it is easy to overlook a mistake because your eye doesn't catch as easily that there may be two number 4s (for example) in a block, because the numbers do not look the same. Your eye looks for patterns, and the different number styles messes that up.
2. Additionally, it would improve navigation around the grid if the cursor wrapped around rows and columns.

Fabulous Kindle Sudoku - works great
This is a great set of Sudoku puzzles for the Kindle. It works really well and is really easy to understand and use (often a big problem I have found with some of these types of puzzles and games). And the quality of the Sudoku grids themselves, with easy to hard in one book, is great (sometimes I feel like an easy one, sometimes I'm ready for a challenge!)
This will certainly replace the newspaper Sudoku for our family!

This is a very fun game and I loved it.It is a great wa to pass the time and you can even change the level of difficulty if needed!!!! Sudoku Unbound #1 was truely number 1.
I love this Sudoku game. It works exactly like I like to work when I am doing sudoku puzzles with paper and pencil, only easier. Very easy to make notes, remove notes, very easy to use. I've tried a few of the others available, and this one has the most functionality in an easy-to-use format. I use it constantly. Highly recommended. My question is: when is Puzzazz coming out with some new versions? This download, as I understand it, only has 100 games. Whaere's Sudoku Unbound #2, #3??
Absolutely loving this application. Whenever I have a spare minute I find myself turning to my kindle.
Puzzles range from easy to the more difficult. As there are no numbers on the Kindle keypad you have to remember which letters on the keypad will enter in the number you wish -
Q,W,E 1,2,3
A,S,D 4,5,6
Z,X,C 7,8,9
When you complete your puzzle it says Congratulations!! If you got an incorrect entry or two, obviously you dont the message but rather than hunt for the mistake(s) you could take the lazy option and go to menu where you have the option to remove one mistake or all mistakes in the grid. The menu also offers to go back to TOC, and to choose a puzzle for you.
Overall - just as addictive as the paper puzzlebooks but with the convenience of some lazy options.
Highly recommended - Enjoy.

Fun game. Have to get used to it not being a touch screen, but the screen is easy to see and it has fun to play so far.
I love sudoku but the paper on the books are usually too thin if I make a mistake. Its easy and quick on the kindle and I don't think the paper if I make a mistake and have to erase.
I am a Sudoku fanatic and my hand held game recently quit working. I ordered this for my Kindle and love it. It's just what I hoped it would be. It's easy to navigate though there are no numbers on the Kindle and all levels of players will enjoy playing.
I am a beginner of sudoku, this apps has a friendly gui interface and a convenient number key binding and a simple but useful introduction of the game.
It was designed just like a book.

No easy puzzles--the least difficult one is medium difficulty!
I am one of those who likes to play easy Sudoku, just because it's fun and mindless. I haven't found one puzzle in this book that I would consider easy. The easy puzzles that I play always have plenty of boxes where just one number will go. But not this one! Practically all the boxes have at least two possibilities, and some have many more. I found it became work to try and solve any of even the easy puzzles. So if you're like I am and like the easy Sudoku puzzles, keep looking. This one isn't it! What a disappointment.

PROS:
- This is easy to use and offers three levels of difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard).
- The EASY level games are easy - if you are used to playing Sudoku games. Otherwise, they are great for warm-ups or learning the game for the newbie.
- The help tips are clearly listed below the gameboard, which makes it easy to use.
- The Hint option allows you to choose the number/square you want to reveal.
- The numbers are large and easy to read.
- Game play is saved if you exit out in
CONS:
- Having to remember what letter is what number. (see below)
- Not enough games - I want more!
On the whole - excellent puzzles and price.
GAMEBOARD:
- My Kindle does not have a number key pad, but using the top row of buttons (Q, W, E, ...) as (1,2,3...) works just fine.
- The Menu button brings up options such as Undo, remove one mistake, TOC and more.
- When you finish a game you can go directly to another game at the same level, or hit "Menu" and go back to the TOC.
