In this book, Sonia not only discusses the various angelic influences on our lives, but also goes into detail regarding the different roles that spirit guides can play in our lives, from "runners" who help us with practical details (yes, like finding a parking space!) to those who help us in a teaching capacity to transcend our egos and become more consciously aware.

Ultimately, what matters is developing a strong and clear connection with your guides, and this can be achieved in multiple ways. Apart from Sonia's work in this regard, I've also benefited from the wisdom of Andrea Hess, Slade Roberson and Erin Pavlina. Currently, only Andrea has a book available, but I would encourage you to also visit her blog, as well as those of Slade and Erin.
When it comes to making the decision to buy a book like Sonia's and invest the time and effort into making a connection with your guides, possibly the most important questions needing answering are: Does it "work"? And is it worth it? The answers are: yes. And yes. It may feel strange at first to attempt to connect to your guides, especially since many people worry when they start whether they are really connecting or just making it all up. If you want an explaination of how to connect to your angels, spirit guides, other higher entities and your higher-self buy this book and read it. Sonia does a terrfic job of filling in the details of how to work with all of these entities on a daily basis and lead a blessed six sensory life. This book is especially good if you have ever attended any of Sonia's classes in person.

This is the kind of book that you will not let anyone borrow! My copy is written, highlighted,and marked all over the place. I have read it three times already and still find useful information that i did not pick up on the previous time around. The book is a complete class on how to contact your spiritual guides, how to talk to them and how to summon them in when you need them the most. Through the meditation provided by Sonia, right before going to sleep i asked that my spirit guide reveal itself to me through my dreams. I dreamed all night of an angel called Mathew. Since then I have had many confirmations that Mathew not only is my guide, he is my protector and my connection to the universe. This is the best spiritual awakening anyone can ever experience. My life has been impacted in the most wonderful way since I have made my connection to Mathew. I don't think I would have understood it had I not read this book nor would I have made my contact with Mathew in such a wonderful way. Sonia has an enjoyable style of writing which is light, balanced and full of examples to demonstrate the information being presented.
The structure of this book gives clear and concise explanations of the different types of spirit and guides in each chapter, and exercises for the reader at the end of each chapter to practise on the topic just read about (which I had good results with).
A wonderful book to begin connecting to spirit and guide energy, and taking it further to utilise the support and guidance they offer to us.

I have read all of Sonia's books and also have attended many of her workshops at Omega and Kripalu. You might say I'm a fan. I would be hard pressed, though, to choose one book as her "best." Each one is full of inspiring teachings and fascinating stories. Ask Your Guides, however, stands out for me because of the focus on connecting to guidance from the invisible support system of beings from other dimensions. Whether you call them angels, light beings, or spirit guides, they do exist, and Sonia shows readers how to open to their assistance. Being aware of spiritual guidance, and then acting on it, is the basis of a life lived intuitively, one of the key elements of Sonia's teachings. The stories she tells from her own life and the lives of people she knows help to make this somewhat mystical and often elusive experience down to earth and very accessible. Recommended!

Sonia's work is amazing. This is the first time I've ever read any of her books or any book like this for that matter. I felt dissatisfied in many area's of my life, scared and closed off spiritually, I felt led to this book as soon as I saw it online and I couldn't be happier that I listened to my higher self and got it. I have already ordered her meditations CD and am waiting for the 'Trust Your Vibes' book in the mail. With so much spiritual mumbo-jumbo out there I am a bit skeptic, not of the spiritual world, but of the people who claim/try to lead you there. I have to say thank you to Sonia for being such a true healer and teacher. Her teachings are all about the positive, about things that every human should know or does know, but has forgotten or been told to forget. If you are like I was, knowing that there was more to the world than what I could see or if you find yourself saying thank you out loud for finding your keys when your running late or for remembering suddenly something important when there's no one there but you-then this book is definitely for you. I have two of Sonia's books. If she writes another, I will buy that one also. She is amazing and down to earth. This book is very intelligently, yet simply written. She speaks to the heart of the intuitive spirit within all of us. She writes of various guides and angels that can help us along lifes travels. I have read all of Sonia's books and I loved all of them. She has a style of writing that makes you feel so comfortable as if you're right there with her. She is very authentic and gets right to the point. I would love to meet her someday. She is truly a very gifted author!
This was an excellent book! It gets in-depth as to what spirit guides are really about and how to reach them. I personally found this book extremely enjoyable and recommended it to a friend who was going through a rough time.
"Ask Your Guides" was a good, fast read. I enjoyed being reminded what tools we all have available to use. I also enjoyed "Trust Your Vibe" and would recommend both of these books to anyone trying to get a grasp on basic principles of New Thought.

I loved the CD version of this material. The book is good too but I like the informal style she uses as she discusses these topics on CD. The CD incorporates some of her seminar lectures which makes the CD fun and entertaining in addition to being informational. She reminds us that we are not alone. I highly recommend!

Sonia Choquette's "Ask Your Guides" book is very powerful and healing. This book has been very helpful to me. I say this because I use to think that you had to be perfect and the societal version of a saintly person to recieve spiritual blessings and help before discovering her book. When I discovered "Ask Your Guides" by Sonia Choquette an awareness came on within me that everyone is worthy of spiritual blessings and beneficial universal resources regardless of how they lived their life. I admit that I happen to be a heart-centered person who is a mixture of a free spirit blended with a compassionate personality. Reading Sonia Choquette's "Ask Your Guides" book is very healing because it contains information on how everyone can attract the assistance from powerful and benevolent universal helpers and resources if they ask, believe, and listen to any intuitive promptings. Sonia Choquette is also one of the authors that I respectfully give credit to that helped me open my eyes to being aware of help from my higher self. Spiritual Growth through positive angelic vibes!
This book was highly recommended to me, and although the entire subject can be a bit overwhelming and confusing at first, it is so positive, inspiriational and life enhancing, I plan on re-reading it soon, so I can asbsorb anything that I may have missed the first time around. This book is the first on my journey into the new discovery of my new found spiritual growth, and next I am onto another very exciting author, Doreen Virtue. This is the most inspirational book I have ever read in my life. She writes in Our language. I can finally put names to all my guides and angels and to all the off the wall expierences. My body is filled with such a powerful feeling of love and positive energy every time I read this book!

This is such a great book. I've given it away to so many friends; it's my new bible. I love it and recommend it to anyone.
I never take the time to write reviews but i think my spirit just lead me here. thank god that the author is elementary in the sense that i didnt get lost along the way at all. i kid you not i couldnt wait to put my kids to bed every night and get to reading. Choquette's latest woo-woo book describes how to work with the spiritual realm. She divides spirits into categories such as water, fire, earth, aira, and other elemental notions of spirit guides. She also continues to describe, using stories from her clients, of the many ways spirits get our attention and how she came to know her own spirit helpers throughout her life. This book is a complement to the deck of the same name for users to work with their own guides as they navigate life.
Before God created the Earthly realm occupied by humans, animals, and plants he created an entire spirit world comprised of etheral beings. In religious books there are guidlines for spiritual gifts as not all spirits are of God. Jesus said not to trust every spirit for some are, as Choquette calls them, negative entities. So ... whom better to learn about the spirit world than someone who claims to have been an Essene in a previous life (an ancient Jewish order) as well as a follower of Christ who was taught by the Messiah himself how to be a psychic in her Diary of a Psychic.

Given that many have already reviewed this spirit-based book .... I urge you to read their takes and synopsis of this book. Given some of Choquette's own religious connotations in As Your Guides, I'll leave you with my own supplementary counsel:
Whether or not we are aware of it or not, the spirit world competes for our minds. As Choquette said of negative entities let me build upon that advice of beware.
The Apostle Paul explains how Darker forces can transmit negative vibrations via these entities:

Luke 4:6 (New International Version): In his Gospel Luke (I wonder if he knew Sonia when she was getting her psychic lessons in a past life from Jesus ... alas after the Council of Nicea we shall never know for sure) ... the Dark side tempted Jesus in the Desert ... like Mara did to Buddha under the Bodhi Treee. Hmmmm .... I wonder who is copying whose religious mythology ... but I digress

This book by Sonia Choquette was a very unusual one for me to read; I am a novice at things like angels, spirit guides, and other divine messengers. I found this book gentle, easy to understand, and a great comprehensive introduction to the various types of spiritual beings. The author also covered things like FAQs about spirit guides, how to prepare to contact spirit guides, names of (and naming) spirit guides, and so much more. It also covered issues such as common objections or problems when beginning to learn about this area, such as negative entities, and myths about spirit guides.
It definitely is a New Age book, but a very grounded and very helpful one. The author is so sincere and approachable that I felt as though I was having a trusted friend explain things to me in a way I could understand.
I would think that everyone who was open would find something to learn here, but I can say for certain that beginners will understand and be as comfortable as one can be with this area when learning about it for the first time.
I enjoyed and felt comfortable by "Ask Your Guides" and would highly recommend it.
