The official spin on numerous government programs is flat-out bullsh*t, according to Jesse Ventura. In this incredible collection of actual government documents, Ventura, the ultimate non–partisan truth–seeker, proves it beyond any doubt. He and Dick Russell walk readers through forty–seven of the most incriminating programs to reveal what really happens behind closed doors. In addition to providing original government data, Ventura discusses what it really means and how regular Americans can stop criminal behavior at the top levels of government and in the media. Among the cases discussed:·The CIA’s top-secret program to control human behavior·Operation Northwoods—the military plan to hijack airplanes and blame it on Cuban terrorists·The discovery of a secret Afghan archive—information that never left the boardroom·Potentially deadly healthcare cover–ups, including a dengue fever out–break·What the Department of Defense knows about our food supply—but is keeping mumAlthough these documents are now in the public domain, the powers that be would just as soon have them stay under wraps. Ventura’s research and commentary sheds new light on what they’re not telling you—and why it matters.

"REQUIRED READING" for American Citizens

David R. Wayne "Auth @ 2011-04-05

Did you know that our government planned on intentionally killing our own soldiers and civilians to falsely justify an invasion of Cuba? That led to President Kennedy's firing of the General who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. That came on the heels of "SIOP-62"; the "Single Integrated Operational Plan" was an actual military proposal for the total nuclear annihilation of the entire Communist bloc in 1962. It was formally presented to President Kennedy as a recommendation and he was so furious that he literally stormed out of the meeting in disgust.
Understanding our history is vital because informing us of the near catastrophes of the past also helps us avoid them going forward. So if you think that "false flag" attacks and the rounding up of innocent citizens are the realm of overzealous "conspiracy theorists," then this book is a very important heads-up.

In "63 Documents," Ventura & Russell team up successfully again in a no-holds-barred exposé of government corruption:

#1: Links between past government perpetrations and today's political agendas, such as the CIA's Secret Assassination Manual: "Maybe they should change the name to the CIA's 'Secret First Degree Murder Manual.' How is it that we are allowed to kill other people if we're not in a declared war with them?"

#2: Delves into a series of government, military, and corporate secrets. Many veterans of the first Gulf War suffer adverse health conditions, yet the government denies the validity of Gulf War Syndrome. "What's it going to take for our leaders to consider the real cost of these endless wars?"

#3: A history of "shady" White Houses. Including an internal war "between Nixon and Richard Helms, director of the CIA... Time and again, the CIA thumbs its nose -- even at Presidents. So who runs this agency if the President doesn't?"

#4: The truth about the terrible events of Sept. 11, 2001. "The question that's haunted me from day one is: "How come the world's biggest military superpower was somehow oblivious to rogue airliners in American air space for more than an hour?"

#5: Examines the true facts behind the "War on Terror"-- such as the CIA's destruction of detainee torture videos.

If you wanna know whats behind the scenes - you totally have to buy this book!

Who has read the book 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read will think twice if he or she gives furthermore blind faith to the mainstream media. With this book fiction should not be mistaken for facts, because every document is evidence and exposes the background on incidents. Truth about the backgrounds of the state power and different corporations, as well as about the CIA and the military. At the same time it becomes clear that democrats and Republicans work hand in hand, even when it seems that they are enemies.

It is shocking what has developed within the last 50 years under the cloak of a so-called democracy in the USA. Who could have written this book better as Jesse Ventura and Dick Russel? In my opinion nobody, because Ventura is not only the host of TruTV's Conspiracy Theory, he is a former Navy Seal, was a governor of Minnesota and knows how the system runs. He put some tough questions to you because he is serious about the issues on which he wrote about. Dick Russell is also not unknown. He has already published 7 books. Only the book American Conspiracies, which he also wrote with Jesse Ventura, was seven weeks in the New York Times bestseller list in spring of 2010.

Many events which are describe in this book stand absolutely differently in the history books, above all in the history books of the schools or universities, or they were not mention. However who exactly reads notices that many events are like small jigsaw puzzle parts which can join together. If JFK, Vietnam and the gulf of Tonkin incident, operation Northwoods or 9/11 the declarations and documents in this book not only make somebody wonder they provide more evidence than the official government has ever offered. Questions over questions: Only the events on the 11th of September leave until this day still many unanswered questions. In consideration of the reports in the book 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read these questions become less. What also becomes less is the faith in the official theory and the book teaches us that a clear common sense and scientific facts and arguments mean more than officially given fictions and people who don't want to get insult their intelligent anymore just have to read this book.

However, not only these subjects are discussed, also subjects about the machinations of the CIA or the brokers are addressed. I don't wanna tell too much about the new book, but this must be said: Who only wants to hear what the mainstream media sells should not sell the book, because with this book you can find out what the media NOT shows to the public or what was censored there. In short: Here you can find out what the government doesn't want you to read.

I give a buy recommendation for this book and I am sure that this book also becomes a best-seller.

Very Intersting Book.

"63 Documents" is a very interesting book to read. What's most interesting to me is the fact that they are real Governmental documents! No fluff or made up stuff. Just the facts.

Extraordinary Collection of Documents - Must be Read - There's One Caveat However - 4 STARS !!!!!

Richard Stoyeck "Sto @ 2011-04-20

This book is a head turner. The topics covered will make your hair stand on end like it was electrified. Jesse Ventura has clearly set out to become the national conscience of our country. He feels compelled to attempt to expose truth everywhere he finds falsehoods being disseminated. There is one thing we can be certain of and that is that our government has been spreading lies by distortion, falsehoods, and deleing material facts for as long as we have been a country. This is entirely not unexpected since the first rule of government; any government is to preserve itself in power.

Ventura has been a former in your face governor of Minnesota, and I found him to be a breath of fresh air whether I agreed with him or not. Dick Russell has written more than a half dozen books, most of which have been about conspiracy and several in particular about the JFK assassination. I have found him to be forthright as well. The book is organized into 63 separate files spread through five different themes. Those themes are:

Part I Our Scandalous Postwar History

Part II Government, Military, and Corporate Secrets

Part III Shady White Houses

Part IV 9/11

Part V The War on Terror

You can see from the above the different conspiracies that are being covered, to determine whether or not you as a reader would have a particular interest in reading about these specific areas. I am personally familiar with more than 90% of the documents in the book, having read many of them in their original format. By the way, the documents you will be looking at are photocopies of the originals. This is both good and bad. It is bad from the standpoint that the fonts, writing, and formatting of the document may make it difficult to read. The positive aspect is that you are looking at copies of originals so there can be no disputing that what you are seeing is an ACTUAL document, and these are the real words that were written as outlandish as many of them seem to current readers. They are nevertheless TRUE.

In our country today are almost 900,000 individuals with top secret security clearances. The precise number is 854,000. In 1996, the government withheld from public inspective about 5.6 million documents labeled top secret. By last year that number had expanded to a mind boggling 55 million documents. There are 16 million new ones labeled top secret every year. There are still several hundred thousand documents being withheld regarding the JFK assassination in spite of the fact that it occurred in 1963, as absurd as that may seem.

What you will be shocked to hear is that the Obama Administration in the end seems to be as secretive as the previous Bush Administration was known to be. Our current President is really serious about punishing those who leak, and keeping secrets. Recently the Pentagon spent near $50,000 to buy up the entire edition, 10,000 copies of a first printing of a book called "Operation Dark Heart" by Anthony Shaffer which had to deal with Afghanistan.

Now this is recently. In the past I have seen direct evidence where certain elements in the US government bought out all existing books regarding the Kennedy assassination. This explains why sometimes when you are searching for an old book on the JFK topic and you scan the used book buys on Amazon, the prices are extraordinarily high for these books. Since they have been intentionally bought up by government sources, the handful that is left seem to sell for hundreds of dollars. An excellent specific example of this are works by scholar Peter Dale Scott like "Drugs, Oil and War: The United States in Afghanistan, Columbia, and Indochina". It sells for an absurd $101 new on Amazon. Somebody is making sure the information is very expensive to obtain.

Just some of the topics covered in Jesse Ventura's book include:

* Stand down orders were issued on 9/11 to prevent military planes from responding to the developing crisis.

* Bush stole the elections in both 2000 and 2004

* The CIA launched an entire propaganda campaign to buttress public acceptance of the JFK lone gunman theory.

* The CIA developed and printed an assassination manual

* Operation Northwoods several decades ago was developed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff to stage an attack on America, and make it look like Cuba had done it. This is particularly wild when you think about it. The document is real however, which in retrospect makes you wonder, what were the Joint Chiefs thinking at the time.

* We have special operations forces secretly fighting in Pakistan while members of the Pakistani government openly support the Taliban in their fight against America.

* My favorite is the CIA document that reveals there is no way to fix the corrupt Afghanistan government because our ally is actually the chief corruptor. Recently an Afghan Minister was caught by our people trying to leave the country with $52 million in American hundred dollar bills which was our money. They let him go with the cash when all was said and done.

My Problem or Caveat with the Book

I believe this book is very worthwhile. The documents are real. You have the photocopies in front of you, and there is usually about a page introduction for each document written by the authors. My problem is simply that the one page introduction is not nearly long enough to do anything called justice to the document or topic being covered. In other words, next to no effort went into the books preparation. Each of these endlessly fascinating topics which I have looked at myself could require a book to cover the topic. At the very least in my opinion, 4 or 5 pages should have been written to introduce the topic covered by the document.

Most readers are clearly not going to take the time to ferret out more information about these documents. It is therefore incumbent upon the authors to give the reader what the reader needs, and that is a more thorough understanding of the topic covered. Several more pages would have done the trick. These topics are just too important for the authors not to have done this. It would have also lent a great deal more credibility to what will be any reader's natural skepticism at much of what is being alleged in the book.

CONCLUSION:

As Americans we are heirs to the greatest republic man has yet to create. We are each responsible for our country, its wellbeing and what we pass on to the next generation. Each of us needs to know about the dark side of our country as well, and the topics covered in this book deal with the dark side. They are not pretty to read about, and some are indeed frightful, but we must be able to handle these documents, and what they mean, and help make our country a better country for it. I applaud the authors' efforts to bring these documents to light. An extraordinary Supreme Court Justice named Louis Brandeis once said that sunlight is the best disinfectant, and that certainly seems true at what is contained in this book. Thank you for reading this review.

Takes aim at Democrats and Republicans alike

David Nelson @ 2011-04-07

With "63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read," former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura takes critical aim at both Democrats and Republicans who have lied, cheated and stolen their way to almost complete control of the United States and much of the world. His use of actual declassified governmental records to prove his point weaves an undoubted web of deceit at our nation's highest levels. While many of the documents aren't new to individuals who have done their own research, Ventura successfully brings the documents together and uses them to create an indictment of the people and groups who are routinely left as the only ones smiling after wars, assassinations and failed economies. Instead of holding his cards close to the vest, Ventura encourages his readers to do their own research and gives them the tools to do so. His newest book is a fascinating game of connecting the dots to show the true face of world leaders.

Exposing evil through their own documents

Ski Bum @ 2011-04-20

The whole point of this book is that all the documents are in the public domain. Of course if you are a government worshiping goon, aka republican or democrat, then ignore all the facts, just like the Germans ignored the facts about Hitler, just like the Russians ignored all the facts about Stalin, Italy and Mussolini, China and Mao, etc.

The facts are irrefutable, evil people are, and have been, part of the the American government, just as the were in 1776 as part of England and all governments. The founding fathers knew this and gave us the constitution to combat these evil control freaks. Jesse brings admitted facts to the public because knowledge is the first step in retaining freedom.

What Conspiracy?

Tha Skrza @ 2011-04-18

These documents are not conspiratorial. These are verified, released, and on the public domain. Jesse introduces them, and you, the reader, can create your opinion on the information. While I don't personally find the WTC 7 documents in this book conclusive evidence of an inside job, I do believe that the documents prior to 9/11 present a foundation and prelude to how the "Elite" operate. What is fascinating and inspirational is how Gov. Ventura presents his opinion to the main stream media and every "newscaster/presenter/entertainer" argues with polemics and naive opinions. I have never seen "The View" panel more awestruck and at a loss for words as when Alex Jones and Gov. Ventura were on.

The Smoking Gun

Steve Sora @ 2011-04-07

This book is for everyone that either has to defend their conspiracy theories or who says "the government wouldn't do that!". Ventura says the government DID infect soldiers, prisoners and prostitutes with disease, fake reasons to start wars, steal elections, stand-down on Sept 11 and has drawn up plans to defend the government AGAINST ITS CITIZENS. That means you. Jesse shows the documents to prove it and shows you how to find them too.

Couldn't Put it Down!

Cathy @ 2011-04-12

This book sheds a whole new light on the lies that our government tells us. It's hard not to believe Jesse, when the facts are presented in the book right from the horse's mouth. Anyone who is interested in the dark side of the government that nobody ever hears about, definitely NEEDS to read this book.

Greatest Book - Ever!

Devo @ 2011-05-08

Mr. Jesse Ventura makes sense! That's why this book is so important for eveyone to read. Not only are the documents true, they're out there and nobody knows that until now. When I took a history class in college, I found that when I was in "school" I was taught patriotism and in college I was taught history! Mr.Jesse has confirmed that.

Must Read for All Americans!

Sheri Newton @ 2011-05-05

63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read by Jesse Ventura is a must read book for every American. These aren't unfound "conspiracies" in this book. It features 63 documents that you can look up for yourself and read in full to see the truth for yourself.

63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read is a book that may have you start questioning the government, if you haven't already started to do so.

Jesse Ventura writes the intro to the documents as he would explain about them on his show Conspiracy Theories. This sets the tone for what you are about to read in the government document for that chapter.

This isn't an anti-America book. Ventura loves his country, but the shady practices going on with the government isn't something he could just ignore. He is a voice for the people, and in these times we need that more than ever. Someone actually willing to stand up for us and let us know what is going on.

The book is divided into five categories:
* Our Scandalous Postwar History
* Government, Military, and Corporate Secrets
* Shady White Houses
* 9/11
* The "War on Terror"

Each of the categories featured have documents that should be read by everyone. Some of my favorites from the book include: U.S. Capabilities in Chemical and Biological Warfare, Putting War Criminals to Work in America, Gulf War Illness and our Veterans, "Emergency" Detention Camps and Civilian Inmate Labor Program, and An Internet "Kill Switch"?

I highly recommend this book to everyone reading this right now. The time for us to be silent and oblivious to these things is over. Read this book ASAP!

* Thank you to the publisher of 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You to Read, Skyhorse Publishing, for providing me with a copy of this book for review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Provocative Reading for All Americans

Stephen Gross @ 2011-04-10

I believe all Americans should read this book. It is an obligation for all of us to know what is being done or said in our name. You may disagree with the politics or the cultural values of Jesse Ventura (I am an Independent, Catholic and a parent of two), but this is my country and I should both know and be responsible for what my country does.

Another similar book I would recommend is DECISION POINTS ? The Truths Behind George W. Bushs Autobiography in His Own Words: THE DECLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS OF GEORGE W. BUSH (American Liberal Critiques). Once again, I am neither Liberal nor Conservative, Republican Nor Democrat, but I do believe that my country belongs to me, and therefore I have an obligation to be informed.

You Can't Handle The Truth...

Lucifer Christ "make @ 2011-04-20

If you want a truthful view of how corrupted our so called "democracy" has become, here it is.
This book is a nightmare of truth.
If you think democracy can work, you should not read this book, as all your beliefs will be torn to pieces.
Jesse Ventura is a hero, as he is giving us the Truth that we all need to hear and recognize.
America - WAKE-UP!!!

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger J. Tuthill "RJ @ 2011-05-08

Jesse Ventura never disappoints. Read this and wonder what is "our" government is thinking, oh, wait they don't. Read this book and think about it, secrets we are not suppose to know about.

Pros and Cons

Andrew Singer "Amazo @ 2011-04-18

The information in this book is required reading for all U.S. citizens, just as his show Conspiracy Theory is. However, the majority of the book is filled with official U.S. documents. He copied many original documents into the book, which in most cases have a poor font, a small font, and are slightly distorted. Also, the majority of each document is not relevant to his specific point.
This would have indeed been a cool feature, if he then summarized the important features of each document. He did so to some degree, but not enough to allow the reader to skip the documents in their entirety. Don't get me wrong, I would like to read one or two official documents, just not 50-75.

So I bought this book hoping to give it five stars, but can only give it two because I am not sure if I can even finish it!

63 Documents Is Thought Provoking

Christopher Yandek @ 2011-04-04

In 63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You To Read, former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura provides the average American with 63 documents covering various governmental policies and decisions made over various decades.

Jesse gives his opinion on each document and how be believes the public is unaware of certain information. With leads to various online sources and analysis of various policy decisions in contemporary American history, Ventura gives the average person a chance to think about important events. Additionally, he gives his views on actions taken by governmental agencies like the CIA and EPA.

Whatever you think of his views, Ventura has staked out a position in the American political system and media as an individual unafraid to ask questions about the choices and motives of the U.S. Government and the way those choices impact its citizenry. For those looking to learn more about government documents - particularly in light of WikiLeaks - and how to do better research on a variety of topics, 63 Documents might make for a good addition to your reading list.

Ventura spoke in detail about many of the documents in the book at:

JESSE VENTURA TURNS WIKILEAKS ON US

EXCELLENT BOOK, YET AGAIN!! IN THIS BOOK JESSE VENTURA, SHOWS US HOW MUCH OF A FRAUD OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ARE. WE NEED MORE WIKILEAKS TO SHOW THE PUBLIC TRUTH. HE SHOWS YOU DOCUMENTS, ON HOW THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) CAN BE BOUGHT AND SOLD BY APPROVING THE USE OF COREXIST (HAS 4 LETHAL POISONS IN IT) TO BE USE IN THE GULF OIL SPILL. THE EPA IS ALSO ALLOWING THE USE OF A GERMAN PESTICIDE THAT IS KILLING OFF THE HONEYBEES IN DROVES.

OBAMA HAS SURPASSED EVERY PREVIOUS PRESIDENT IN GOING AFTER PROSECUTIONS OF LEAKERS.

AFTER PRESIDENT KENNEDY WAS TRYING TO GET OUR TROOPS OUT OF VIETNAM, THE MILITARY FAKED THE GULF OF TONKIN ATTACKS IN ORDER TO EXPAND THE WAR. GULF OF TONKIN NEVER HAPPENED CAUSING THOUSANDS OF US SOLDIERS LIVES AND MILLIONS OF VIETNAMESE.

When part of the truth lies out there at your nose point and for the forest you cannot see it. Another case in point is the book "U.N. a Cosa Nostra" which details the inner workings of some U.N. organizations. U.N. a Cosa Nostra: The workings of an organization 'helping' the poorest of the world (Volume 1). His recent interview on CNN convinced me to buy his book and I am not disappointed. Having said that there is nothing which looks more like the truth than the lie... So I want to pick the pieces of the jigsaw and rejuggle them myself for a full picture.

A Note to your Publisher

Sonia Brosz "Silvern @ 2011-05-11

I gave this book five stars based on the information and quality of the content, but Jesse, your work is much too important to have been printed so cheaply. The publisher should have enlarged the print and made a few more pages even if they had to charge a bit extra. I would have bought it anyway, but enjoyed the actual reading more. So tell your publisher that the next time you publish something incredible (and you will), we'd all like to read it without a magnifying glass...the printing was terrible.
Good job on the book. Opened my eyes to things I didn't know the full story on. Thank you for writing it. I'm a total fan of the truth. Thanks, Jesse...we do appreciate your efforts very much. Please keep on keeping on.

...and this supposed 2B City upon a hill. I think U.S. government influence is probably almost completely gone. The only real influence they have is within, let's say, a hundred miles of any given aircraft carrier. I don't think Washington is taken seriously by anybody anymore, except for its military power. The simple fact is, and you saw this in the Bush administration as well as in the Obama administration, it's clear to everybody that they don't know what they're doing. They have absolutely no understanding of the things that they're meddling in.I remember watching a television interview with Condoleezza Rice right after 9/11, when she said "Nobody in the White House knew where Afghanistan was." And that after the Twin Towers came down, they all gathered in the Oval Office and had somebody bring in a globe so that they could all find out where Afghanistan was.
Now we have freshly started propaganda steamroll with OBL death. I see no big deal if he is death or not since with illegal drug trade worth over $1 trilion/year, over 90% come from Afghanistan, one can create countless OBL like Ford do cars.

Excellent Entry For Truth

Though far too many in the public fear it, the truth can be found in this book. 63 Documents the Government doesn't want you to read

William @ 2011-05-19

The photo reproductions of the original documents were hard to read and a bit dry. Jesses' short preamble to each document was more interesting than the documents themselves, but his comments were short. This book is nothing more than a collection of photo copied documents with a short opinion of each one. It might have been better if the Governor had written a book and listed the documents in the bibliography.

TOO SMALL TO READ

BC6915 @ 2011-05-19

I was glad to see that Jesse's latest book was also available in Kindle format. Unfortunately the actual document images are too small to read, even after 'ZOOMING' in on them. I had to drag out the magnifying glass to read them. Some of them were just too faint or light to read. While I love the "documenting" of the conspiracy it's a shame that these 60 year old eyes can't read the documents. If you are into conspiracy theories etc. I would recomment getting the book and not the Kindle version.

cheers.

"63 Documents the Government doesn't Want You to Read" is an eye-opening read. Jesse backs up his writing with copies of actual documents. Some of the documents are hard to read, but the reader can tell that they are the real deal and not something made up. He tells it like it is in a no-nonsense manner. What he presents has all been declassified. It truly does make one wonder what those millions of still-classified documents are about. His message is forthright and thought provoking. The subject matter of this book is just the tip of the iceberg of what is happening without our knowledge and he encourages readers to also dig further.

While it was useful to see these all these items in print and under government agency headers, I didn't learn a whole lot (being a seasoned conspiracy 'theorist'). There are probably 63 MILLION MORE government and official documents I would like to read (like Obama's school records - LOL) but getting ANYTHING transparent out of the cabal will be lengthly and difficult. PS - Some of the original documents are a bit aged and still heavily redacted. Stuff like this could make it hard for one to sleep at night, if you took them seriously. PNAC is scary enough, as is reading the list of its contributors!

Informative, But Not An Easy Read

Mark Stone @ 2011-04-18

I bought this book after seeing Mr. Ventura on a few TV talk shows. Lots of compelling information, but many of the copies of the official documents are difficult to read. I found myself simply reading Ventura's page-or-so summary/commentaries of each of the documents. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone to a bookstore and had a few cups of coffee while reading the summaries. Not worth the money, unless you're willing to put in the time and drudgery necessary to read the documents.

Hard to Read

I found it to be intresting, what I could see to read. Too many documents and in very small print.

63 Documents

kbn @ 2011-04-30

I did not like "63 Documents" as much as Mr. Ventura's "Conspiracy Theory" book. My criticism lies with the difficulty in reading excerpts from some of the documents presented. It seemed to me that one was supposed to consider these documents with more seriousness because of the look of the document. As if belief in its authenticity would be more certain because it was a copy of the real document. I found these areas so difficult to read that I skipped over them. There were notations of where the documents could be found but I wasn't interested in spending my time and effort looking them up.

I would say the book didn't hold my interest as much as I thought it would. Sorry I wouldn't recommend this book.

The worst audio book

63 DOCUMENTS THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T WANT YOU TO READ IS THE WORST AUDIO BOOK I HAVE EVER ATTEMPTED TO LISTEN TO. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND ORDER ANYTHING ELSE.

Some people really will believe anything

Francis @ 2011-04-26

Sometimes one has to wonder just how gullible people really can be.

It is books like Jesse Ventura and Dick Russell's '63 Documents the Government Doesn't Want You To Read' which provide answers which are, at least in my view, downright frightening. I will not get into any of the specifics, as you can read these in the other reviews here, but do consider that the authors quite literally copied and pasted entire articles into their manuscript, the content in the majority of which has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter at hand, and created the backbone of their book from these. Also, the information here is publicly available, so it can be assure that the government can care less if you read it or not.

In short, do not waste your money on this product of fear merchants. I only gave it two stars because, as I stated previously, it serves as a fantastic case study in gullibility. If you want real solutions to real problems with the government, such as out of control spending or illegal immigration, give Joseph Cotto's The American Thinker: Realistic Solutions That We Need Now to Revitalize the American Dream a read. Otherwise, spend your money on something more worthwhile.

What a Joke

James B "James B" @ 2011-04-10

This book is atrociously bad, even by conspiracy theorist standpoints. The authors (does anyone really believe that Ventura wrote any of it though) act as if what they were writing was dangerous and subversive material, but the fact is all of it is run of the mill stuff that they simply downloaded off of the Internet. They don't add anything to this by putting it in book form, and the government couldn't care less if you read them or not. Most of them don't even really count as "documents". My favorite example is where they print an article by Kevin Ryan, a former chemist and now a full-time truther, regarding put options before 9/11. All they do though is print his essay, available for free here, among other places:

[...]

This isn't some sort of super secret government document though, it is just an essay by some nutjob on the Internet. Ryan doesn't even have a background in finance, has no special information short of what he read on the Internet, and doesn't even get the most basic things right. Just read the article on the Internet if you want to waste your time, at least you won't waste your money.

Old Information from a POSER!

Rogue Iron Giant @ 2011-04-06

Does our wonderful government lie to us? Of course. Many times each day. The government lies to us sometimes because we as Americans are too stupid and don't know when to shut our pie holes. Just look at the current state of media. The major news outlets spin news and falsehoods as facts to get our current president elected. Why is this not in James...err. Jesse's book?
Then we have what is branded as reality TV which borders on pornographic tripe that we suck up to make our otherwise dull lives better. Why doesn't James (Yes, his name is James) write about this? Why is the majority of his finger pointing at Republicans?
Since the turn of the century we have had eight Democrats and ten Republicans who have served as president. You might even make the case to say the Nixon and Ford should count as one since they filled only one term. In that time Democrats held majorities for at least forty continuous years. So whose fault is it?
It is the fault of the American people. We elect this human debris and then think we can sit back and do nothing. We are the laziest generation ever and it is getting worse with the mediocre kids we are raising. And what it worse is this poser being allowed to even spews this garbage.
James Janos (his real name) was never, never, and never a Navy SeAL. He was a frogman with the Underwater Demolition Teams. Big difference. He never saw combat from his drunk platform at Subic Bay Naval Base. And even if he were in Vietnam he still would have been lucky to see true combat.
Then he joined one of the worse biker gangs in American...the Mongols. He was not only a member but a full-patched member and the chapter Sergeant at Arms. To become a full patched member you must do something pretty intense or it won't happen. Where the record of this disappeared to we will never know. Maybe it is a conspiracy? Jesse claims that people who get into the presidency have been pre-picked years in advance. Maybe the same thing happened in the case of James Janos (aka Jesse Ventura, "The Body", Mongol moniker).
This book is interesting in that all it does it use old material to show our government has done some not-so-great things in the interest of our national security. Sometimes national security is a scary place to venture Mr. Ventura. Sometimes crazy ideas are floated with no intention of ever coming to fruition. Ideas alone are not a conspiracy to all you nut jobs out there who think it does. Julian Assange is not a hero. He was just the punk kid who got the crap beat out of him during school. All of you nut jobs love to spread the hate of the government but none of you ever has one idea how to protect us from people who don't care how nice we are unless we are dead nice people. Our collective minds do not want to believe that JFK was killed by a lone gunman because we can't imagine how one person could accomplish the task. But we are all too happy to think that our government which can not run the DMV, Post Office, IRS has the ability to conspire to dupe some loser like Oswald. But then we further believe in this spirit of the individual and how they can achieve great things on their own. So what is it going to be? It can't be both.
For special operators Jesse is a joke. He is just another entertainer posing as a substantive person of thought. But after the curtain is pulled back all you have is a steroid abusing, military poser, gang member/criminal and not the second coming. Maybe he is the weak minded person he was talking about in the past. Buy the book to be entertained.
